<I completely disagree. Iraq isn't threatening anybody but its own people. That's perhaps why the Nobel committee wanted to send the message.
If I may gently remind...
Iraq invaded Iran in 1980, and Kuwait in 1990. This pattern might lead some people to conclude that Saddam Hussein is a threat to other nations in the area, including Israel. You might make a reasoned statement that Saddam may not pose a threat to America, even indirectly, but to state that he is no threat except to his own people is not true.
It seems obvious to me that should Iraq acquire weapons of mass destruction, that Saddam, who is has a messiah complex, is quite likely to attempt to take over the Mideast. Israel's nukes may deter him for a while.
And come to that, how much abuse of his own people should be tolerated by the rest of the world? Anybody remember the justification for the Kosovo attacks?
