Let's see now...the Right thinks the capital gains tax is evil, and wants to repeal it, on the theory that people who risk money should keep all of the rewards.
At the same time,
The first bill would let investors deduct more of their net capital losses from their taxes. Taxpayers can deduct up to $3,000 now, which hasn't been changed since 1978. The GOP's bill raises the deductible to $8,250.
Let's see if I've got this straight: Capitalists should be able to keep all their gains, but if they lose, the government should make up the loss?
What????
Tom: where do you get the idea that a free market is immune from downturns?
Gee, I dunno, Tom, maybe Bowser got that idea from the Right!
You righties crack me up!
