Thought I made my point, but here goes again:

Well, I could say that a tax break for investors that have lost a great deal of money in the market is a good idea, and a deduction in the amount mentioned, about $8,000, although it would be lost in the noise for the wealthy, would be a major boon to a middle class investor. I could say that such a tax break would show a little compassion for those investors who have taken a major bath in the market. But I won't.

What I will say is that anything--ANYTHING--that keeps productive wealth out of the hands of the raving socialists that now comprise a measurable chunk of our government is a good idea. Almost any use it would be put to in the private sector, including buying pizza, would be more productive and better for the economy than what Ted Kennedy would do with it, which is mostly to toss it to non-productive voters as bribes to keep him in power. What the Left has found is that you can take ten thousand dollars from one man, who has one vote, and pass around $500 each to 20 parasites, who have among them 20 votes. The math ain't hard for a politician, and a majority of the Federal budget is currently engaged in exactly this process.

Point me out a nation that has taxed itself to prosperity. It's a cliche, but like many cliches, true.

Hell, if someone came up with a bill to deduct the cost of bellybutton piercing, I would enthusiastically support it. Every nickel helps.

That this is incomprehensible to people who believe as much money as possible should devolve to the State is not surprising, but I can explain it as many times as necessary.

It's MY goddamn money, and having less of it looted is not a "gift" from the looters.
