Just read in "Outside" magazine that there is now 1% of the old growth forest left. Presumably 100% was in, say, 1700.
If that's true, it doesn't seem to be too much to save, does it? I mean, if someone said 200 years ago let's save 10% of the forests it might not seem too extreme. And this is one-tenth of that.
