Yup, the "Do the right thing" activists have screwed the folks they were trying to help.
However, why do we as a govt and society have to spend so much on AIDS?
There are other more prevalent deadly debilitation diseases where much less is spent. Most folks with AIDS can live extended lives with the "AIDS coctail" of drugs while the greater number of Alzheimers victims through no fault of their own suffer horribly. Don't get me wrong, AIDS research has benefited all of us as we learned more about the immune system. But it's over funded relatively speaking.
