I agree.
"I want to say this about my state," Lott said last Thursday. "When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We're proud of it," he said to applause. "And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years either."
Gore, speaking in a televised interview," said the Senate should censure Lott. "It is not a small thing for one of the half-dozen most prominent political leaders in America to say that our problems are caused by integration and that we should have had a segregationist candidate. That is divisive and it is divisive along racial lines."
Why is it Liberals demand freedom of speech unless it is something they don’t like.
The Rev. Jesse Jackson had said Sunday that Lott should step down. "Shame on the Republican Party if it does not demote him for promoting this mean-spirited and immoral propaganda.
And Jesse has never said anything racial about Whites, Hispanics, or the Jewish? I have heard the man say many racist remarks against others.
Once again, Lott said, "I want to say this about my state. When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We're proud of it, and if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years either."
Where does Gore get “It is not a small thing for one of the half-dozen most prominent political leaders in America to say that our problems are caused by integration and that we should have had a segregationist candidate. That is divisive and it is divisive along racial lines,” out of Lott’s statement?
Where does Jesse get that Lott is “promoting this mean-spirited and immoral propaganda” out of his statement?
Lott was just praising a man on his birthday. I agree he should have watched his mouth, but they are blowing this way out of context.
