Re: Who loves ya, baby

Let's keep it simple: Republican plan: 670 billion into the economy and out of the ratholes. Democratic plan: $131 billion into the economy and out of the ratholes. Any questions?

I'm still looking for hard details on the Democratic plan. Anybody with a link, please let me know. I got what I have so far from the DNC site. There are a LOT of details on the Republican plan.

So far I've read about $600 rebates for "working people"*, and some tax relief for small businesses. Kuttner lies, and tells us the Democratic plan is smaller because of the dividend cut. The Democratic plan is smaller because the Republican plan doesn't ramp taxes back up again after the "quickie" stimulus.

BTW, anybody remember the endless ridicule and abuse that was heaped on Bush by the Democrats in 2000 for his "stupid and inane" $600 tax rebates that were a first installment on the permanent cuts?

Permanent repeals. Permanent cuts. Not bonus checks. The Democrats aren't going to pull the wool over our eyes this time.

*God, I hate this term. The income floor on the top 25 percent in America is about $55,000, which implies that nobody who makes more than that actually "works" for his money. What the hell defines a "working person," anyway? Doesn't someone who founds a company and hires a hundred people "work?" Most well-off people I know work their goddam asses off, apparently for the privilege of being cooked, cut up, and served to their constituents by the Democratic Party.
