Re: Europe v USA
<Europeans believe they are moving beyond power into a self-contained world of laws and rules and transnational negotiation and cooperation. Europe itself has entered a post-historical paradise, the realization of Immanuel Kant's "perpetual peace."
Well, if Europe is truly moving to an era of "perpetual peace", then I guess we can bring home our 100,000 military troops. If there's no threat to their peace, then there's no need for us to spend tens of billions of dollars every year for them. If they decide there is a threat, let them get off their lazy ingrate asses and take care of themselves. "Freeloading" is putting it mildly.
On a humorous note, check out Rumsfeld Sorry for 'Axis of Weasels' Remark.
