that would make the federal government the most vile of all, at least out west. About 83% of all the land in Nevada is owned by the federal government. Here's the percentage of federal land holdings in the western states.
As an aside, I keep hearing people complain about how western ranchers get a sweetheart deal by grazing their cattle on federal land. They say that privately owned land is much better taken care of than the federal land. Gee, how about selling some of the federal land holdings to private owners? Not all of the west is Yellowstone, you know.
