It's obvious to anyone who is being at all objective about it that the current protest marches are not being organized simply to promote peace, but instead for the single purpose of opposing America in general and the Bush Administration in particular, and promoting a hard-line leftist agenda. I've pointed it out before, and been pooh-poohed by people here, who mostly respond with something along the lines of "I saw someone at a protest who wasn't anti-American, or a Marxist, so you must be wrong."
Well, I'm not talking about the "useful idiots" here, I'm talking about those who are setting all this up.
Fact: Several of the largest protests are organized by hard-line totalitarian Marxist groups. A.N.S.W.E.R. is only the most prominent of these. Most of the rest of the protests are organized by less radical but still determined left-wing interests.
Fact: Nowhere in eight years of Clintonian military escapades--which took place largely without U.N. approval incidentally--did marches like this take place. Didn't notice a lot of movie and music stars speaking out either.
And the most telling fact:
Nowhere in any of these protests, among any of the tens of thousands of signs, banners, and marchers accusing Bush and America of every vile and evil act imaginable, is there a single voice saying, "Saddam, please disarm." No protestor interviewed, who has professed to be for peace and against war, has said, "if only Saddam would cooperate with the U.N., maybe there would be a better chance to avoid war." No movie star on talk shows has said, "you know, maybe Iraq has a little something to do with what's happening here."
Not one. Nowhere. I challenge anyone to come up with one photo of a sign, quote from a marcher, or any other indication that any of these "anti-war" protestors assign any responsibility whatsoever to Saddam Hussein for alleviating the current crisis.
