Perhaps saddam sees a great rally around Baghdad to finally defeat the wicked Americans, but I think losing breeds losing and so far saddam has consistently, in every war he has ever fought, been a loser.
Like most tyrannies, the Iraqi army so far seems mostly useful at entertaining its dictatorshipand in repressing its own people.
But this is far from over.
The opportunity for terrible mistakes and foolish choices is vast.
