It doesn't even stand up to a basic logic test. Saddam used his nonexistent influence with the Kurds who hate him and he them, to set up a base in territory he doesn't control, to help Islamist fanatics who despise his secular dictatorship kill the Kurds who encircle this hypothetical terrorist base? Right....
