I really don't think this is the case. The Coalition (not sure if the UN had anything to do with it) didn't want us to go in after saddam in the course of the gulf war, but the uprising I am talking about took place AFTER GWI.
I don't think the UN said bupkis about us helping/not helping the post-war rebellion. That was OUR decision
If these statements are contestable or incorrect, please correct me- but they represent my understanding of the facts.
Plus, in general, lets keep it straight. All "other nations" that we decide to heed or not heed are NOT equivalent to the UN. Like I said, I don't think the UN had much to do with the objectives of GWI, that was more the gulf states there.
