Tom: you are a convict of your convictions.

"
tom quotes rl:
'NO SANE PERSON IS "PRO WAR" BUT I WILL ADMIT SOMETIMES IT IS THE ONLY OPTION!!!!'

That is probably the most reasonable statement I have seen in a long while here, and any reasonable person would agree."

Tom, what you fail to understand, over and over, is that ONLY THE DISCOUNTABLES run around saying war is NEVER an option. WWII and KoreaI stand as shining examples of just wars. Kosovo/Bosnia stands as an example of a morally correct and rationally justifiable intervention.

"I have been getting a little tired of people bombarding me with the notion that the war on Iraq was because conservatives just LOVE war "

Who? Bowser? This is the mold for all anti-THIS-war folks? what kind of fool do you take your peers for? The world that disagrees with you is NOT, in sum, a bunch of blowhards of idiots. Many arrived at their positions through reason- not saying you didn't, but you MUST acknowledge that fact if you are to be anything other than a CONSERVATIVE version of Bowser.

"I come down hard on the A.N.S.W.E.R. organization because I know damn well they have an agenda, and the antiwar sentiment is just another tool for them to exploit. "

So does the untra-fundamentalist-right [have an agenda]. They too are trying to exploit this war. Have you watched the 700Club lately or surfed the mainstream fundamentalist sites lately? I have. If what they are doing does not consternate you at LEAST as much as A.N.S.W.E.R, then you really should get your head checked.

"Every situation has its own set of answers."

and
"were simply choosing to ignore all the great and wonderful other ways the Iraq problem could have been dealt with. What ways? "Reply hazy. Ask again later.""

Tom, last I checked you still refuse to acknowledge that NO other attempt at a solution has been applied to Iraq for 12 years except the bureaucratic freight train of sanctions and corrupt UN administered oil-for-food, which became just a complete hook for UN and international organized crime. It was like crack for bureaucrats- the only way for it to keep the powers-that-be in power and wealthy was for it to never 'work', just roll on-and-on.... So the black market was ignored because to 'see' it was to admit failure, and the UN as a body had no initiative to pursue a strong enforcement because Russia and France and even US companies were getting rich running the sanctions. And the UN was getting fat on their 'administrative cut' of the oil-for food money and had no desire to 'end' it.

Do you call this debacle an honest attempt at solution? Are you that blinded by your ideology?

Convictions are great, Tom, but one should not be a convict of their convictions. Open you eyes on this matter and at least own up to the fact that no HONEST attempt at a solution has been tried in 12 years. This failure, I claim, does NOT endorse war.

Now, are you going to LIE YET AGAIN and call this answer Hazy and ill-formed? Because thats what you ARE DOING by ignoring my posts on the subject of what has and has not been tried for 12 years..
