"Hmm, so the French Foreign Minister is a "DISCOUNTABLE".
(or I should say the French's position in regards to Iraq at the UN which subsequently led to US miltary action in Iraq.)"
Well, you are narrowing down what I said to mean "never an option WRT Iraq", which is not what I said as indicated by the rest of the paragraph.
Never-the-less, I would have supported war w/Iraq under some circumstances. (and I supported Gulf War I)- such as Clear and convincing proof that Iraq was a clear and immediate threat to US national Security (not just interests, security!). If Iraq had invaded, again, one of its neighbors or Clear and convincing evidence surfaced that it was just about to do so.
I am a pacifist in the sense that I always believe that violence indicates a failure of some sort, even if understandable or unavoidable (and therefore forgiveable). However, like my brother, I also believe war is sometimes tho only option.
However, it was not the only option in Iraq, and by the fact that there are no justifications, should not have even been a seriously considered option.
