CNN covered up information most people would have liked to have had in determining whether or not war was justified.
News agencies are still expected to at least pay lip service to objectivity. This is not even close.
The point that CNN actually painted a picture opposite of what they knew to be true is inexcusable! That's not a lack of objectivity, that's not bias, that's outright distortion. The kind that anti-war posters have blasted Bush for when in fact his claims had some basis.
I have long been skeptical that the "liberal" media bias is anything more than mush brained liberal arts major's failure to accurately analyze anything and the inherent bias all human's bring into any endevour, but this really makes me angry at CNN. I can't believe rational people are handwaiving away a major failure of one of the cornerstones of our democracy.
The seemingly obvious solution to me was for CNN to protect their sources then release the stories. A year or two of holding back for the sake of a well documented expose would have been reasonable. Covering up for a decade and even casting doubt on Bush statements they knew were true is inexcusable!

Mark
