This is a good point and strikes at the crux of the quandry. However, the job of the President is not to do the job of the press. It's long understood that nations will not and cannot reveal details of HOW they know stuff to prove their point. So Bush did the corageous thing. He made his point and did NOT provide the backup evidence that would have most likely cost lives and cut off the channels of information.

In sharp contrast, the press exists to investigate and inform us. Of course they need to protect their sources but somehow they manage to do that, but no, NOT in this instance. Here they chose not just to HIDE and evil but to promulgate a view that Bush was some unreasoning zealot in labeling Saddam et. al. as evil. CNN and others KNEW better. They chose to hide it from us just giving us puff piece Dan Rather type interviews with a mass murders in a begnin setting. Shame on them. They just destroyed any shell of credibility they had.
