Oh, I don't believe it shouldn't be done...
In fact, I believe we are obligated to do it no matter what, now that we're there. No matter what happens at home. No matter what other little war crops up that we can't stay out of. No matter what. We walked into this, and now we have to finish it.
And that my grandchildren (of which I have none yet) will be sending holiday packages to our service men and women stationed in Iraq. Maybe even my great-grandchildren.
This is not going to be easy. Nor is it going to be short. And we had better be sure that we understand what the Iraqis consider to be respect for their culture and their religion, not what we think they ought to accept.
