>Pragmatically, the war was justified to me and a wide majority of Americans.
Hi Frank (what are you doing up so late?)
I would say that YOU and many others BOUGHT Bush's propaganda and didn't question it like I did.
I could see the impossible odds we were up against and I knew what Bush promised would NEVER fly.
And I'm no third grader, but I do have a lot of common sense with an ability to forsee events.
> If Bush can't....... slow down the attrition of our troops, WMD will be the least of his worries.
He's going to be pretty unpopular very soon, with the parents of these young soldiers demanding their pull-out. I ran into a young man here in town today who wants to join the army, but he's a little underweight. Says that the graduates of 2003 are the ones they're looking for...to recruit. The younger, the dumber, the better. They have no education, understanding or awareness of the vast political plays that lie beneath our military, and they are ripe for being bribed into the "service" with a good college education. Just ask Private Jessica Lynch, for example.
>what we find is not likely to match the pre-war rhetoric.
Thank you Frank. Coming from you, that's a STATEMENT!
>I suspect there will never again be support for a pre-emptive war without virtually unanimous world-wide agreement.
Ah yes, I agree with you here. A tough lesson.
BUT, I really don't think Bush cares. And his next victim could well set off WWIII. These are dicey times. It's a lesson for ALL of us. Better hope and pray somebody will be able to stop him.
