Not surprisingly, we are being inundated with stories about our miserable troops, and every casualty makes the front page. The fact that Iraq has the beginnings of representative government is scorned, and its flaws emphasized.
It is painfully obvious that there is a large contingent in this country that would dearly love to see the Iraqi effort fail, and the more horribly, the better. For some people out there, twenty million people returned to slavery would be a small price to pay for the political destruction of George Bush.
Exercise for the student: try and find some good news about Iraq prominently displayed in the mainstream media.
Did you hear about Operation Soda Mountain or Ivy Serpent on ABC news? Did you read about the new mass graves uncovered in Iraq? Did David Kay's pronouncements go beyond that one article? Do you ever hear ANYTHING positive?
The Left is hoping for a repeat of Vietnam, and they're playing the same old tunes on the same old piano. The difference is they don't have a monopoly on the news any more.
