I'm not looking to censor such stories. I'm looking for a little balance.
I read a good dozen stories along the same line...miserable troops angry at their leaders and their situation. Many different names.
Am I supposed to believe that they couldn't find anyone...ANYONE...over there who is proud of freeing a country, and thinks he is doing something worthwhile, despite the discomfort and danger? I get opinions along those lines from letters I see that soldiers have written to friends and relatives. I see them on personal web sites. I don't see them in the news.
Isn't it obvious that the reporter must have interviewed dozens of soldiers and then selected the comments that would make his political point? Most of the news from Iraq is filtered this way in the mainstream press. I have to go to other sources to get anything different.
