Obviously I'm not talking about ALL liberals, but a lot of them will be trying to diminish this.

Actually, a realistic assessment would be "wait and see." There is no hard proof that the guys taking potshots at our forces are an organized force with a centralized command structure, and frankly, the way Saddam's sons were brought down leads me to believe that they were not running an army, just running.

If this is the case, then the demise of Saddam's sons, or even Saddam, may not stop the attacks. It certainly won't stop attacks from Syrian imported fighters and those who are shooting at Americans just because they can.

If on the other hand, this is an organized guerilla* force under Baathist leaders, the attacks may fade out.

The next few weeks will be instructive. We will know a lot more when we get Saddam, assuming he's still alive.

In any case, it must be a load off a lot of Iraqi minds to know that at least those two tyrants aren't going to be sneaking back into power.
