If, very soon (I mean less than a month) after Saddam is found, the US still stays in Iraq, even though the Iraqis don't have to fear Saddam anymore, then the purpose of removing the tyrant from power as being the main argument for war, falls flat.
War is the most perilous, chaotic and vengeful human activity. It is far too serious to be taken lightly.
And if there are flaws as to the reasons for it (there should be one straightforward one rather than a succession of them), then it's normal journalists ask questions.
