re: Privatization is just another ideal
Privatization is a goal in the sense that we have already tried the other route. Free and creative people will almost always come up with better ideas than bureaucrats, and this has been proven again and again.
And the bureaucrats are the problem, at the policy-making level. The rank-and-file NASA personnel, the ones I know, are skilled and enthusiastic people working inside a system that tends to eat them alive. I would like nothing better than to see a rapidly-growing private space industry giving these folks a place to shine.
