You're wrong on this one.

If this is the principle, that it's OK to attack another nation because it offends one's morality, then this principle can also be used by others to attack any other nation because it offends their morality. Such was the justification given by al Qaeda for the attacks on New York and Washington. We offend them, morally, so their behavior was justified. That is the basis of their case.

The concept of moral equivalence is one of the most poisonous ideas I have seen come out of the Left in this country. And yes, that's where it comes from.

The idea that there is no objective way to judge whether Saddam Hussein or George Bush is the better person, whether American values or Taliban values are better, is insane.

By this line of thinking, the invasion of Nazi Germany because we think Jews should not be exterminated, and Germany invading the U.S. because they think Jews must be exterminated, are equivalent acts, a simple difference of opinion.

How the hell does someone learn to THINK this way? Never mind. I've spent time on campuses.

If a person tries to convince you that there is no way to objectively judge the morality of a person, philosophy, or nation, that person is trying to destroy the concept of morality itself. I leave it to you to decide what the motivations would be of a person attempting to convince you that there is no way to judge right and wrong, good and evil. Tyrants not only begin by disarming people physically, they need to disarm their minds as well.
