and I essentially agree with your assessment of liberal and conservative politicians.
Perhaps the difference is I don't like being pandered to, even if I am poor. I see it as condescending and attempting to establish my place in the world. Still, if they throw me a bone, I grab it, just like grabbing a tax loophole.
I believe in trickle down, having witnessed it throughout my life. My inability to catch the big wave is no one's fault but my own, and I am a good sport about it. In spite of missing the big wave, I have enjoyed my best times and increased my wealth when taxes are low and business is thriving.
I have no faith that higher taxes on the rich will improve our economy, but in the end I will support the side that allows the greatest upward mobility for talented individuals and does not regulate that talent.
