Well, I can answer that with an analogy
A person who thinks a war is unnecessary and immoral, and who legally does everything he can to avoid military service is not a hypocrite.
A person who believes a war is moral and necessary, who legally does everything he can to avoid military service, is a hypocrite.
I guess that makes us both hypocrites, doesn't it? Both of us legally avoided the infantry.
