The key point of the editorial is that we shouldn't be conducting pre-emptive wars on the basis of inaccurate and unreliable intelligence - upon presumptions and assumptions rather than facts and hard evidence. Those "socialist" editors over at the NYT are making an excellent point that even the most strident neocon would have trouble finding faiult with.
