re: Concorde
"Concorde never recovered after a horrific crash near Paris Charles de Gaulle airport three years ago, in which 113 people died."
They can't say the same thing about ordinary passenger jets. But because the Concorde flies in a supersonic flight regime, people stay away, and the companies are in the red. It took one extraordinary event to cause the similar revenue crunch for general air carriers. It makes me wonder if we ever have a mass-transportation system for space travel, and an accident happens, that no one will ever ride again! No one would ever leave the planet, even with the capability in place. Wouldn't that be sad?
