Wake up and smell the goddam coffee.
We drink differnt blends I see
The attackers blow up civilian targets and attack the hotel being used as a headquarters. Media, protestors, and a goodly percentage of Democratic presidential candidates call for an end to the "occupation" and for all the troops to be brought home. Bush loses poll points in favor of Democrats who will cut and run if elected.
I know of one Democrat - Kucinich - who wants out now. The others realise the reality of the situation. If we pull out now, we leave a bigger mess than when we came in.
If (fingers crossed) we get a Democrat President (though which one of that sorry lot, I dont know) AND we are still engaged in Iraq, there will be no withdrawal. Not without a massive occupation by UN forces at any rate, and that aint likely to happen either.
Funny, when I look at "the media" I don't see a whole lot of "Pull out now" editorials or opinions, and I bet that for every opinion piece you find that says that, I could find 50 more that don't.
As for protestors - seen any big marches lately? The public are not with them now. All that is left are the hard core rent a mobs and their leaders.
And if the quote you gave is true, then I would also tend to dump ANSWER in the traitorous box too. There is no excuse for campaigning for the deaths of our soldiers.
Does this:
A. Encourage more attacks
B. Discourage more attacks
a) No
b) no
What all resistance to occupying forces attempts to do is to cause enough damage to cause them to pull out. You and Ed make it seem like this is a brand new form of warfare, or a revamp of the Tet offensive.
You're still blaming the media for Viet Nam - I think you haven't gotten over that yet.
Where were you when this was being done in Vietnam? Do you remember the Tet Offensive?
I was 7 at the time of the Tet Offensive - didn't leave a big impression on me.
Most of the rest of the protesters are just ignorant or misguided.
This reminds me of the person who decries the left for their explanations of why they didn't win elections.
Wonder who that could be...........
