What I would fear most from this scenario is turning the formation of government to the UN and allowing the UN to set rules of engagement.
Would the UN insist that the government be secular with representation from all factions or would they cave in to Shiite rule and an Islamic state? Would we allow the UN to set rubber bullet rules of engagement?
I doubt that even Kucinich or Sharpton would pull the troops since the UN would be begging us to leave our guys there as cannon fodder. Hopefully, the rest would do very little different when the onus is on them and the question loses it's political flavor.
When the choice of candidates is made the dems will have to state a definitive policy on Iraq.
