Your later post does not address anything in it not does it address that Bush campaigned for tax cuts before the economy tanked when the Fed was still trying to engineer a soft landing by raising interest rates. Please use your vast economic expertise to explain Bush's brilliant plan to raise interest rates even higher.
You should also remember 2 key points. We got out of the last recession on low rates alone and entered a nearly unprecedented period of expansion with low inflation and high growth. Too much stimulation leads to excessive growth and a shorter period between recessions. 7.2% growth is not sustainable. I sure hope that is a turnaround rebound and not the norm for the next year or two or inflation will come roaring back.
Short term stimulation makes sense to blunt the impact of recession. Overstimulation just makes the economy more bumpy. Higher interest rates may have to be applied during this cycle to offset lower taxes. Low interest rates benefit everyone. Lower taxes benefit primarily the wealthy. Moderation is what is needed folks, something Democrats and Republicans seem to have a hard time grasping these days.
