tax cuts are an economic stimulous
The question is are tax cuts that will kick in month's down the road (dividends) versus tax cuts that will kick in immediately (income tax cuts) designed to stimulate the country out of a recession or reward campaign contributors? I think the real answer is neither. I think Bush actually thinks they are a good thing for the country long term due to his circle of friends and contributors but falsely advertised them as a recession cure. The corrupting influence of money and access isn't necessarily just direct buying of votes.
