The slippery slope of breaking laws is very devious. It starts with little things and can grow into huge things.
My point was that taking the path of least resistance isn't the answer. In Iraq, the left wanted to take the path of least resistance and deal with Saddam. Quite often the resistant path is the best. I coined the phrase mental opportunism to describe this repetitive pattern of following the path of least resistance.
Socialism is easy to like. Cradle to grave healthcare, childcare, housing and the like, all sound real good to most folks. It provides the path of least resistance. However, as a result, in Europe you now have two generations of handout crybabies who smoke like they are on fire and are clueless as to the causes or cures of their accelerating societal degeneration.
I point out the smoking because it is a typical symptom of the somewhat self-destructive mentality. They consciously know smoking is very destructive yet can perpetually make excuses why they need, tolerate or enjoy it. Unfortunately, most of Europe is going up in proverbial and literal smoke.
I swear, you get into these diatribes just to aggravate us
As well as to provoke thought.
Sometimes I have to overkill a point to get the basic idea across. These posts are somewhat equivalent to stage make-up. They are overdone so that even the person in the very last row can see the basic features. Aesop did the same thing with his fables. He exaggerated a point so as to illustrate human foibles and a broader perspective. If it appears like I am painting a picture with a paint roller, then much will appear as overkill. However, the person in the last row will hopefully still be able to see the writing on the wall.
We are all part user/creator. However when one is exposed to the concept one will always find oneself re-evaluating one's various actions and motivations. A hardcore user can have an awakening and decide to balance with a bit more creating.
I'm not here to hurt anyone's feelings or to divide the world in yet another manner. It's just a thought and can be taken or left here in the green and black to languish as a post re-run.
Lindy, I hope you have very happy holidays.
I also hope everyone is doing great, feeling healthy and that your supply of "reality" pills never run out.
