I don't envy the engineers

I don't have design experience with buildings any taller than 10 stories, but I know enough hydraulics to realize that getting non-electric services to the occupied floors is going to be an ongoing migraine for the engineering team... and that's discounting the animosity already obvious between architects - those project meetings are going to be doozies.

The budget has already doubled between the initial design contest award and this "rollout" of the so-called final design (I can hear thousands of A's and E's across the country mumbling "Final... yeah, right"), with ceremonial groundbreaking still nine months off??? And I find myself wondering how many cities, states, and nations have annual budgets less than $12 billion dollars.
