As far as terrestrial life, she is probably right about the Solar System. But I wouldn't bet the farm at this point that energy-rich chemical soups like Jupiter are totally sterile, and I still have high hopes for some of the moons like Europa. Of course, your conversation with her probably predated much of what we now know.
