That's an interesting concern. Born of fears concerning the future, I have wondered the same things myself. The things I predict will happen will be some type of massive upheavels in land masses and a rapidly changing climate where the sun becomes merciless and fries a lot of our temperate zones. I can also see biological WMD's being unleased in certain areas. We'll have to pay the price for opening Pandora's box. I've often wondered if the Gulf War 1 illnesses the American soldiers and the Iraqis suffer from aren't from a combination of the chemicals and biologicals released from our bombings.
And yes, there are plenty of savages still here on the planet.
I would like to see the end of wars, but that is a pipe dream.
This is a wild untamed planet with many predators, so none of us can truly live in peace.
As for TECH 1's pipe dream of a cure all. Electronically speaking, the device would have to be simple enough to be inexpensive. Otherwise, it will only be available to those who can AFFORD it, or who have health insurance. Right now, in the pork-lined streets of Washington, new laws are being passed to protect certain insurance companies and health industries.
We'd need a whole re-vamp of the system. Money, and the pusuit of it is everyone's God these days. Things are being done rapidly and illegally in pusuit to grab larger and larger portions of this money to spread around to those with greasy hands and looser morals and there is no end in sight. The Whole System is corrupted. THIS worries me more for the future than the "technology", because he who holds the MONEY, controls that technology.
