Of course Sharpton would have gone after him, and it wouldn't have mattered if his attack made any sense or not. The disadvantage the Left has with its deference to all things of color is that things really don't have to make sense when "diversity" is being discussed. You bow, scrape, and hope those black votes show up next fall.
It is interesting that if Sharpton was white, with the same ideas, he would have been laughed out of the election months ago.
