Won't campaign finance reform breakthroughs weed out pork-heavy space proposals like Bush's in the future? Bush's may justifiably fail, but future presidents will have to be elected with the people's hard money, not the pork lovers' soft money. Boeing already lost its CEO because they can't buy their way to a free pass in Washington like they used to be able to. So perhaps future space proposals will be so pro-entrepreneurial (to maximize the political support base and the potential impact for the industry) that they'll get through?
