Look, if you have to get a special warrant of some kind from a judge, fine. But when someone has kidnapped a kid within the past day or so and is in custody, and won't talk, I'd like to think this is a special case with unique circumstances. Pump the bastard full of happy juice and ask him questions. I would even be okay with what he said under the influence being inadmissible in a trial. In fact, it would almost have to be inadmissible in a trial.
I taught my kids too all the dirty tricks these bastards use. I told them that I would never send anyone to get them in an emergency, unless it was one or two trusted friends or relatives. To their credit, the schools here are really hard-assed about who picks up a kid after school, especially in the younger grades.

- The poll is now closed
- Once you start doing that, no self-respecting garbage can will accept your body. Plus, it almost never gets the victim back alive. Plus, the guy has not been convicted yet. etc. (n/t)

- A scifi example
- An unusual situation
- I think it would be more cruel to leave a victim abandoned somewhere.
- There is absolutely no evidence that anyone would be saved by allowing brutality to become ensconced in our legal system.
- And if the police have 10 suspects?
- I think it would be more cruel to leave a victim abandoned somewhere.
