Reminds me of a story I once read or saw.
I can't remember if it was a short story or a tv show. The story was about Human's terraforming Venus. People begin exploring the surface once it cooled enough, but to their horror they find the remains of a race of worm like creatures which had been wiped out by the terraforming process. To make matters worse, one of the dead creatures is clutching a spherical object, which shows they were intelligent. Does anyone remember the name of this story?
