Most likely scenario is geological evidence of former life, like microfossils, or those rocks that were once accumulations of algae hundreds of millions of years ago.
But I'm willing to be surprised. You could have knocked oceanographers over with a feather when they found those deep sea rift ecosystems a few years ago. Tube worms!
