Hardly

The Republicans set the standard for chasing Clinton with all kinds of bogus enquiries. You can't have it both ways, if these kinds of enquiries are wrong then you should be ashamed of the Republicans for doing it so much to Clinton. If they are right then you should suck it up until all the details have been published.

Much of the controversy has lingered from Bush not releasing his records. In a typical lie he claimed to Russert he had released them all, and that he would release all of them now. Tha lasted a few days and now the stonewalling with mcClellan for new records is happening again.

Also there is the matter of someone accusing Bush cronies of destroying some of his records, which is likely to be a felony including all those in on it. While no one knows yet how reliable the source is, using dubious sources never stopped Starr from wasting the public's time and money.

Bill Burkett, then a top adviser to the state Guard commander, said he overheard conversations in which superiors discussed "cleansing" the file of damaging information.

So many Republicans made a big deal out of Clinton lying over Monica Lewinsky and claiming it was the lying rather than the sex that offended them so much. Here people are trying to establish if Bush lied about his service and now those same people all of a sudden don't care to investigate if Bush is stonewalling and lying or not.

This of course shows their mock outrage was all partisan bullshit with Clinton but then we knew that already. The real question is not whether Bush is hiding a bad attendence but how bad it is.

For example, this is hardly the last nails in the AWOL coffin, in fact it sounds a lot like being aWol:

NEW YORK - (KRT) - George W. Bush left his Texas Air National Guard assignment and moved to Alabama in 1972 even though the Air Force denied his request for a transfer, according to his military records. In fact, Bush did not even ask for an official transfer until nine days after he moved to Alabama in May 1972. The Air Force quickly rejected Bush's request, saying the fighter pilot was "ineligible" to move to the Alabama unit Bush wanted - a squadron of postal handlers. Nevertheless, Bush stayed in Alabama until his Texas commanders finally gave him written authorization five months later to train there.

Clearly all of this happened because of his father's connections, the controversy is because Bush is trying to deny that which is absurd.
