That is a very nice model that closely parallels my own rambling thoughts in other posts.

My gut says evaporitic process, too, possibly in a playa lake situation (probably 'cause I've seen more playa than sabka) but the process is very much the same.

Agreed 'bout the tabular pits and barite or other sulfate crystals. Still trying to decide if the photos of them are parallel to bedding, ie, is this in the plane of bedding? Or a massive bed.

Thought I saw some draping over the sphereoids.

The "jelly" layers are an important part of the story, too.

The possible metals in this o/c must be sending some weird spectra.

Isn't it amazing the speculation possible from pictures and one compositional data point! That's field geology, folks, it's alot of good clean fun.
