But Martha's crime did lose Billions of $ for ordinary investors.
She caused her own stock, that of Kmart, and many others to decline substantially.
Her scandleous behaviour did not come to light in a vacuum. It added to an already skitty stock market. And if such behaviour were allowed to go un-checked then the entire capitalist system would be undermined.
I think we should take away ALL OF HER WEALTH in the form of fines.
She abused the system. The System must be protected. And a message must be sent to others who might one day think that they can get away with scamming the system.
She ripped off the small investor (to save herself $50,000 she did not need). She is scum of the Earth in my Capitalistic playbook.
Capitalistic punishment...Its a good thing.
