First let me thank you for making your point in a short paragraph and being concise and compelling.

So your crew will be only as far a 2 hour (probably more like 1.5) away at max from the Vault? Or are you planning portable regolith covered Vaults? Some repairs may take a little longer than a couple of hours. Being stuck in a spacesuits doesn't promote speed in workers.
