On a personal level, I suspect I'm immune. I'm relatively old, retired, or semi-retired, have done my time, did my duty, and am now all hat and no cattle. If I ever manage to get arrested in a protest, I might change my mind. And that WILL happen if there's another stolen election (by the Rs), or if there's no election, if they declare martial law.
As far as the others go, I don't think it will get so bad that there will be that sort of vetting for jobs and so on. There are too many people who are anti-government for them to be able to do that.
However, if Bush manages to spend a quarter of a billion dollars and win the election, we will have an oligarchy, wherein money rules, and in another 4 years it won't be possible, I don't think, to get them out.
Therefore, maybe you're right. If there is a Bush Presidency next January, in the long run the younger folks may be better off if that stuff is dumped. Because I don't think there is any end to their interest in controlling the population.
Sad.
And, that's only a hasty opinion. As for my views, I don't care. As long as the dog and cat are OK, they can have the rest. It's been one helluva ride, and a few more trips around the block might be interesting.
