re: Might want to hold on to that crow

I just heard 2 democrats who sat on the committe to which that classified testimony was given. They said, more or less, that if the etire record was declassified, that Clarke had nothing to worry about. In fact they said, more or less and in public: "Do it, declassify it!" I think they would be simply silent on the issue if the testimony would hand Clarke.

True, I saw that too. And from the original article I linked:

Two sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that in his testimony two years ago, Clarke depicted the Bush administration as far more active in grappling with the threat of al-Qaida than his testimony on Wednesday outlined.

Two Democrats, putting their names on the line, vs. two of those famous anonymous sources? Sounds pretty good for Clarke, I would think.

But, using the famous Democratic precedent of digging for digging's sake, (after all, "questions remain") the documents should still be declassified. Crow? I'm not basing my entire argument on these unknown papers, and neither is anyone else who thinks Clarke isn't exactly playing it straight.
