Brillant physicians have a bizarre reputation for being easily duped by outrageous scams

I don't know why but many intellectually gifted surgeons and other medical doctors (including a few I've known) are completely hopeless when it comes to responsibly managing their personal finances. A surprising number know absolutely nothing about investments and easily fall victim to scams.
