The rich pay most of the Income Tax in america. That much is true. And it is only true if you define the rich as the top 10 percent of Income Tax payers for nearly all years(and thats supported by YOUR data!). Do you actually think that 1 out of 10 tax payers are "the wealthy"? You are welcome to do that- you can define "the wealthy" as the top 50% if you want, but the bigger you make that bracket, the more patently absurd your argument becomes. I personally think "the wealthy" are the top 2-3%. But it can be legitimately debated. 10% though is knocking on the door of absurdity.

Also, It is not clear to me that your table is not simply Income tax and not FICA. In fact, I read it as being Income tax reciepts (your below comments seem to affirm that read).
